James P. Peters, Attorney at Law

James Peters is an attorney in the private practice of law, with an office in Glenwood, Minnesota and works on various cases across the State of MN. Mr. Peters is currently the President of the 16th District Bar Assn; MN.  Mr. Peters graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School and began his practice with Winthrop & Weinstine in the Twin Cities. Mr. Peters practiced law in California from 1988-1993. From 1993-2001, Mr. Peters served as as Of Cousel to the law firm of Quinlivan & Hughes in St. Cloud, Minnesota.  Mr. Peters has had his own practice since 1995 and enjoys a wide-ranging legal practice in business law, finance, environmental, land use, estate planning, family law, and municipal law.  Mr. Peters has extensive experience in Minnesota District Courts and the Minnesota Court of Appeals, also with appearances in the Minnesota Supreme Court.

Mr. Peters also serves as the Examiner of Titles for Pope County, Minnesota.

Mr. Peters served as President of the Minnesota Resort and Campground Association in 2004 and on the Board of Directors of Hospitality Minnesota. 

Mr. Peters was a member of the Florida State University golf team, where he participated with several players who went on to the PGA tour, including Paul Azinger, Brian Kamm, Nolan Henke, and others. Mr. Peters has won golf tournaments on the Golden State Tour in California and with the Minnesota Section of the PGA as a golf professional.
