Karna Peters is a Past Chair of the Board and a current board member for Minnesota Continuing Legal Education. Karna is now the chair of the MSBA judiciary committee.
In 2005, Karna received the MSBA President's Award, one of the MSBA's most prestigious awards.

Karna (Johnson) Peters graduated magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota law school in 1986, and was named to the Order of the Coif. While in law school, she was a managing editor of the Minnesota Law Review.
Following law school, she clerked for the Honorable Harlington Wood, Jr., of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit, in Springfield, Illinois. From 1987 to 1993, Karna was an associate with the San Diego office of the international law firm of Latham & Watkins. She and Jim Peters formed Peters & Peters, PLC in 1995.
Karna’s practice includes advising clients on environmental regulatory matters, land use, municipal law, civil litigation and estate planning. She is a member of the Minnesota Bar and the California Bar, the Minnesota State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
While at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, Karna completed the CREDO Honors program, graduated summa cum laude, and played on the women’s golf and basketball teams. She was named an AIAW Division III All- American in golf in 1981 and was a member of Concordia’s AIAW Division III National Championship basketball team in 1982.
Karna is a member of the Glenwood Rotary Club and is a past President of Glenwood Lutheran Church (2001).
